Despite grappling with a N100 million debt, singer, Dbanj, does not seem to be so broke after all, after he redeemed the 1 million naira pledge he made to Toke Makinwa during her book launch on Sunday.

The excited Toke revealed on her gram that the singer might not be happy with the way she made his donation public but that she did it anyway.

She wrote, There are friends, and there are FRIENDS!!!!! Dapooooooooo………We go way back and it’s always been support, kindness and more support.
Thank you for your huge contribution to my book #OnBecoming.
You really didn’t have to and I know you’ll be mad at me for making this public but we’ll talk it over. D’banj made a pledge of 1 million Naira, and he redeemed it. Thank you bro cc @iambangalee
Oya blast me now but before you do, let me shout about your own book. You must release it!”

Contrary to the notion that some have that the singer is broke due to the lawsuit issue, Dbanj is actually one of the richest solo artistes on the continent at the moment as he is estimated to be worth more than eight billion naira.

Report says nine members of the military were wounded, including seven from the country’s elite Presidential Security Group, in a roadside explosion in southern Philippines on yesterday.

Military spokesman Restituto Padilla said the attack occurred in Marawi City in Lanao del Sur province.

He said that the troops were part of an advance party ahead of the visit of President Rodrigo Duterte to the area, which might not go ahead now for security reasons.

“They (troops) were heading towards the military headquarters when they were hit by a roadside explosion caused by an improvised explosive,’’ Padilla said, adding that one PSG member and another soldier were seriously injured.

Padilla said a presidential chopper airlifted five soldiers to a hospital in the nearby city of Cagayan de Oro.

The military said the attack might be related to the ongoing conflict between troops and the Maute terrorist group who have occupied the centre of the nearby town of Butig since Thursday.

Barack Obama today told Donald Trump to "stand up to Russia" in a stark warning to the next President.

The outgoing premier warned the US "cannot set aside" free speech and the rule of law when Trump enters the White House in January.

Trump is due to meet Russian leader Vladimir Putin after the pair vowed to tackled ISIS in breakthrough telephone talks.

In the Presidential campaign Trump exchanged controversial warm words with Putin - saying he had "strong control over a country" and "if he says great things about me, I'm going to say great things about him."

But speaking in a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Obama said the relationship must not be unconditional.

Russia clashed with the US over foreign policy when it annexed Crimea and sent its military to Syria in support of divisive President Bashar Al-Assad.

Mr Obama said: "In order for us to solve many big problems around the world, it is in our interest to work with Russia.

"[However] on issues like Ukraine, on issues like Syria, we've had very significant differences.

"My hope is that the president-elect coming in takes a similarly constructive approach, finding areas where we can cooperate with Russia where our values and interests align.

"But that the president-elect also is willing to stand up to Russia when they are deviating from our values and international norms".

Obama and Merkel enjoyed a friendly meeting as two of the only major world leaders who have served for eight years or more.

"Chancellor Merkel is perhaps the only leader left among our closest allies who was there when I arrived," the President said.

And abandoning the premise of impartiality, he suggested he would vote for her if she attempted a fourth term in 2017.

The Former special assistant on New Media to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has denied ever accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of part-funding the U.S presidential campaign of Democratic Hillary Clinton with a whopping sum of $500M.

Omokri made the denial while reacting to a publication in some online media titled ‘Educating Reno Omokri’ by the Personal Assistant on Social Media to President Buhari, Lauretta Onochie where the Buhari’s spokesperson alleged that he had accused the President to have co-sponsored the political campaign of Hillary Clinton.

Omokri who urged President Buhari to call his aid to order however said that such fabrications could damage the relationship between Nigeria and the U.S President-elect, Donald J. Trump.
“My attention is drawn to an article ‘Educating Reno Omokri! By Lauretta Onochie falsely accused me of alleging PMB funded Hillary’s campaign.”

“Someone please tell @laurestar the old woman @MBuhari made a PA on New Media that I never accused PMB of funding @HillaryClinton‘s campaign.”

“President @mbuhari should call @laurestar to order. Such fabricated lies can damage our relations with the incoming @realDonaldTrump admin!”

“President @MBuhari should note that @laurestar only has irritant value in the eyes of Nigerians. Why would I accuse PMB of funding Hillary?”

“Nigeria under @MBuhari is so broke she wants to borrow $29.9 billion. Where then will PMB find funds to fund Hillary as @laurestar alleges?”

“If @MBuhari‘s intention is to alienate his govt from the public then he should keep surrounding himself with the likes of Lauretta Onochie!”

Nnewi – Anambra State born oil magnet oil magnate, Chief Emeka Offor on Sunday warned pickpockets to steer clear of the funeral of his father, Chief Bennett Offor that will hold this week at Oraifite, Anambra State.

Despite the campaign by the House of Representatives, Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation and other financial bodies against the viral Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Movement, MMM, it has continued to flourish due to the seeming hunger to make quick money.

MMM rides on the wings of belief, greed and a failing economy to flourish in Nigeria despite its negative history and bad publicity as a Ponzi scheme.

Nigerians have found solace in the scheme in the face of scathing economic hardship that has compounded the woes of the masses. As at today – 14th of November, 2016, MMM Office which is the basecamp of the pyramid community is 6th most visited website in Nigeria according to Alexa.com

Google.com ranked as the most visited site in Nigeria. This was followed by Google.com.ng, Youtube.com, Yahoo.com, Facebook.com and MMM Office gallantly occupies the 6th position.

This is a yardstick to measure the heavy patronage enjoyed by the website which promises a 30% return on investment for Nigeria running helter-skelter for financial cover.

It would be recalled that online money making ventures, whether genuine or not, seem to always find entry and acceptance within the Nigerian populace. Several systems have come and gone, with over 90% of them ending up as well orchestrated scams, yet every new entry finds a way of being embraced by Nigerians.

Pop singer Chuddy K in a recent outburst has lashed out at the suggestion that he was a washed-up artiste who failed to make a meaningful impact.

In a ‘TheNetng’ article, the singer was described “as a bad example’. The writer in the last paragraph wrote, “‘If you want to build a lasting career, if you want to dominate and fulfill your potential, then you need to be patient, study the game, get mentors/role models, study them find out what makes them thick and what their weaknesses are. That is the only way you can leave a lasting impression. If not, you’ll be a flash in the pan like Chuddy K and a whole lot of others.’

This left Chuddy K furious with the publication and he didn’t hold back as he poured his mind passionately on the social media against the perceived unfair statement that was written about him.

He wrote, “Why did he have to use me as a bad example in his write up. I have released five hit tracks in all my eight attempts at releasing a single. He doesn’t know my story and yet he had the guts to write shit about my life.

‘My career has been faced with ups and down, bad label executives mistreated me, I will make sure he eats his words and I will come down to your office and find out whoever that person is, just wait for me.

‘I don’t have a massive hit at the moment doesn’t give you the right to call me a failed artiste. I have done more than four comebacks. He better ask about me and know the truth about things before he writes shit.”

Let’s just get this out of the way—if you’ve notoriously broken the guy code rules, then I’m going to say you probably don’t have a lot of friends. The guy code is sacred.

You think this code was made up just for giggles? This code was created for all men to follow. It’s an unspoken oath each male baby takes upon leaving the womb. Yes, it’s that serious.

The guy code rules you need to know

If you didn’t know before, now you know. Here are the 22 rules of guy code that can never be broken.

#1 Your sister’s friend is off limits. Unless you plan on marrying her, under no circumstances can you try to get with your friend’s sister. No matter how attractive she is, if things go bad between the two of you, your friend will be forced to take the side of his sister. Family is family. So, don’t touch her.

#2 If your friend’s girlfriend asks you any questions, you deny knowing anything. You don’t know where he is, what he said, where he went. Not only is this backing your friend, this is also saving yourself from scrutiny. Not knowing is better than knowing in this case.

#3 You must greet your friend appropriately. This means:

A hug cannot come before a handshake.
A hug must be accompanied with a pat on the back.
No high fives or fist bumps. Ever. This isn’t Jersey Shore.

#4 You must inform him if he is dressed horribly. If your friend is wearing a neon green polo with pink shoes, you are obligated to tell him he looks horrible. You are as strong as your weakest link, and he’s hitting an all-time low, so get that guy back in the saddle. Unless you’re also wearing the same outfit, then rock it together.

#5 Avoid uncomfortable urinal confrontations. This is very easy. A man shall not take the urinal beside another man. You must leave at least one empty urinal in between each other. In addition, do not use the short urinal nor make noises while shaking yourself dry. It’s weird.

#6 Unless your friend murdered someone, you bail them out of jail. You go to the bank, collect all your pennies and hand them over to the police. He’ll pay you back, don’t worry. Point is, if in jail, you pay the bail. Liked that rhyme action there, eh?

#7 If your drunk friend is about to cheat on his girlfriend, you must follow through with one intervention. Make him aware of the choice he is about to make. If he replies with “f*ck you,” then you are free from any responsibility from that time onward. You are then also no longer obligated to listen to him talk about it the next day.

#8 Never speak about it again rule. If you accidentally graze or touch another man below the waist, it’s already agreed upon as an accident and there will be no mention of it ever.

#9 A bet is a bet. If a bet is made, no matter what, the loser must follow through with his obligations to carry out his side of the bet. This includes doing embarrassing acts or monetary compensation. If he refuses to pay or carry out the duties, you must settle upon an agreement.

#10 Wingman duties. If you have a girlfriend and go out to the club with your friends, you are automatically given the job as wingman. From there on out, you must support your friends until they achieve their ultimate goal, whatever that may be *as long as it’s consensual*.

#11 Speedos are out. Unless you are Michael Phelps, you are prohibited from wearing a speedo. Come on guys, I know it’s summer, just take it easy, the ladies will come, just give it some time.

#12 Respect another man’s boundary. Every guy has his own personal line. Understand where their line is and do not pass that line. If you don’t like where the line is, avoid hanging out with this guy.

#13 Internet buffer. If something tragic happens to your friend, the first thing you must do is delete their internet history.

#14 Don’t brag about how many girls you’ve slept with. Sure, it’s probably an impressive number, but no one cares and you look like an asshole. Don’t be that asshole.

#15 Pranking your friends is seen as bonding. If you decide to engage in pranking, make sure that these three things will not happen:

Will not result in a trip to the ER.
Will not result with you stealing their phone.
Will not result in you or him being in financial debt.

#16 Do not ditch your friends for a girl. Unless, this is the girl you’ve been talking about for weeks and everyone is aware of how badly you want her. If she’s some girl you met this morning at the Starbucks line and she seems “okay,” you can see her tomorrow.

#17 Don’t let your friend drive home wasted. Dish out the money for a cab, and hand him the receipt the next morning.

#18 Back up your friend. If your friend gets into a fight and you’re unable to calm the situation, back your friend. Even if he’s wrong and an idiot, he’s your idiot.

#19 Don’t give another man advice on working out unless he asks you. He realizes he has small arms, he has a mirror. Giving out unsolicited advice makes you sound like an asshole.

#20 Best man, best stripper. If given the title of best man at your friend’s wedding, you’re entitled with the duty of preparing the bachelor party. This means, regardless of what he says, you must provide him with a stripper.

#21 You must own at least one suit. This can be worn to weddings, funerals, graduations, special dates. Plus, you’ll look hot.

#22 If you ask a girl on a date, then you’re supposed to pay. If it was a mutual decision, then you can go dutch on the bill.
