Ahead of the May 29th handover, the transition committee on Monday held its inaugural meeting to develop the needed modalities.

The transition committee is expected to see to the smooth exit and handover of the outgoing government to the incoming, in respect of briefs and handover notes.

The Committee which was constituted by the government is playing its role while the All Progressives Congress (APC) has already set up its own committee to receive briefs from the out going government.

“The terms of reference of our own committee is to collate relevant information for the hand over briefs from all the MDAs, prepare them and interface with the incoming administration’s transition committee.

“Ours is to collect our own hand over briefs, prepare the briefs, prepare the President handover notes”, Anyim Pius Anyim, secretary to the Federal Government, said.

Anyim said after the collection of briefs by the government committee from the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) then there would be an interface between the two committees “so that whatever clarification they want, the questions they have, then we will be able to address them”.

Some of those who attended the meeting include: Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Mohammed Bello Adoke, Minister of state for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, Head of Service, Danladi Kifasi, Director General of NAFDAC, Paul Orhi, amongst others.
